The multi-model workflow

One question, several AI answers: how doctors can compare what matters

A practical workflow for Ask All AI and Consensus: compare assumptions, sources and critical differences across medical AI answers in MedSafeAI.

The short answer

Ask All AI sends one question to multiple AI models. Consensus helps compare their answers, surface critical differences and turn a long set of responses into a focused reading plan.

Give every model the same problem

Comparing AI answers becomes difficult when each model receives a different question. A small change in the population, setting or requested outcome can produce a different answer for a good reason. Start with one clearly bounded question and keep the inputs consistent.

MedSafeAI's Ask All AI sends a single question to multiple models in parallel. Its agent comparison and Consensus workflow bring the responses together and highlight important differences. That lets you move from collecting separate answers to examining where their reasoning, evidence and assumptions diverge.

Ask for a structure you can compare

For a journal club or a literature review, specify the population, intervention or topic, comparison, outcomes and time period that matter. Also state what the task is: map the evidence, compare guideline language or prepare questions for further reading. Those tasks require different outputs.

Try this prompt: “I am preparing a journal club on [topic] in [population]. Compare the main findings from relevant research and guidelines. For each claim, show the source, study population, outcome and important limitation. Separate evidence from interpretation. List unresolved questions rather than filling gaps with assumptions.”

Keep that prompt intact across the models. If you later change the scope, treat it as a new comparison rather than mixing the answers with the first set.

Look beyond whether the final sentences agree

Two answers can reach similar conclusions while relying on different material. One may cite a guideline; another may use a small study. Conversely, apparently conflicting answers may describe different populations or publication dates. The useful question is what explains the difference.

Use the agent comparison to locate disagreements, then read the relevant passages in the individual responses. This checklist helps distinguish a real evidence dispute from a difference in wording:

  • Scope: are the population, setting and outcome actually the same?
  • Sources: are the claims based on the same studies, different studies or no identifiable source?
  • Time: is one answer relying on an older guideline or evidence review?
  • Certainty: does the answer separate established findings from unresolved questions?
  • Missing pieces: which limitations or alternative interpretations appear in only one answer?

Use Consensus to decide what to inspect next

Read the Consensus synthesis for shared findings and critical differences. For each important disagreement, return to the individual answers and identify the source or assumption behind it. Keep those answers available while you review the synthesis so you can trace a summarized point back to its original context.

Use three questions to plan your next reading: “Which difference could change my interpretation? What evidence or assumption explains each position? Which source should I open next?” This turns the comparison into a focused investigation. The number of agreeing models is not a substitute for that investigation.

The next step is source reading. Open the decisive papers or guidelines and check whether they support the claims attributed to them. Models can share an error or draw on overlapping sources; agreement alone does not establish clinical validity.

Finish with a short evidence note

Record the question, the points of agreement, the unresolved differences and the sources you checked. This is more useful for your next discussion than saving several long answers without context. Start in MedSafeAI with one question from your current reading, use Ask All AI, and inspect one meaningful difference before expanding the task. The workflow supports research and professional judgment; it does not replace either.

Common questions

Is Ask All AI just a model selector?

No. It sends one question to multiple models in parallel. MedSafeAI also provides an agent comparison and Consensus workflow for bringing their responses together and examining critical differences.

Does agreement between AI models prove that an answer is correct?

No. Agreement can help organize a review, but models can rely on overlapping information or share an error. Check the sources and assumptions behind important claims.
